The main indicator of satisfaction for the organisers is the proportion of horses sold and, from this point of view, Thursday evening was a success with a rate of 84% of transactions.
We had to wait until midnight and the passage of SCILLA Z, the daughter of SCENDRO, to find out the top price of the evening. For €54,000 the magnificent brown bay will stay in France, at Jacques HIPPENMEYER’s stables…
Let’s bet we haven’t heard the last of them!
The other most prominent jumpers were sold for between €25,000 and €35,000, with the less spectacular going for around €20,000.
Halfway through the 36th Elite Auction, the impression of a demanding and selective market is confirmed. Investors are ready to untie the purse strings for horses that ‘send the dream’ and are more timid for others.
Some excellent jumpers who did not show all their qualities also went for very reasonable prices and it is more than likely that in a few years’ time we will be talking about this evening as one of bargains.
Most of the most impressive jumpers are still to come this Friday and tomorrow!
It’s a safe bet that the Espace Rozier has not finished vibrating this week.
