For the 4th edition of the Deauville Classic Fences Sale, the market praised the quality of the selection and several records were reached.
There was no need to arrive late at Deauville on Saturday 10 August. The auction opened with the first embryo offered for public from Olympic vice champion HH AZUR, sired by COMME IL FAUT who is the sire of 2024 Olympic champion CHECKER 47.
He will be born in France after his buyer agreed to pay €68,000!
It is also in France, at the Lerchenberg stables, that we will now be able to follow the formidable stallion SPARK VD BISSCHOP.
He was the subject of a fierce Franco-Mexican battle, encouraged by the venue, which ended at €390,000, a new Performer auction record.
In the end, 6 of the 7 embryos and all the foals found buyers, as did 9 of the 14 performers, both at auction and by mutual agreement.
The total turnover of horses sold was €1,845,000, up 15% on the 2023 edition.
This augurs well for the 36th Elite Sale, to be held at Bois-le-Roi from 27 August to 1 September.
